Zero Waste Project

Sustainability has become a big part of my practice as a designer. In experimenting with various ways to reduce waste, I developed some ideas of how to design garments with no scrap of a fabric unused. By cutting nesting pattern pieces, using fewer fit points, and incorporating design details for style and shaping, each garment is zero waste and still unique. While this design is made of muslin and dyed with natural avocado dye and red cabbage dye, the design could be used for various fabric weights and widths to change the style. I took this concept even farther for the Reclamation Collection.
