Renew the Renway is my latest project. I’m combining all the elements of sustainability, alternative culture and inspiration from Indigenous Filipino clothing to create clothing that is both wearable art and conscious design. Each small batch collection will be a mix of zero waste designs and upcycled pieces.
I am starting small and aiming to stay small. Why? The fashion industry already over produces garments, much of which end up in landfills. We have enough garments to clothe the next 6 generations, which is part of why I want to include upcycled items for at least half of my materials. I also wanted to make sure I was facilitating a relationship with the people who buy what I create. I want the kind of care that I put into my designs to carry over to the person wearing them.

Another aspect of my designs is wearability. Fashion has no gender or size limitations. I want everyone to wear what makes them feel good. Gender affirming designs are something close to my heart, so I consider any body that might want to wear my garments. And when possible, I add adjustable elements for life’s body changes that we all experience.
